The Yemeni film "10 Days Before Zafa" wins the Aswan Festival Award

The Yemeni film (10 days before Zafah) won the Special Jury Prize for the long film category at the 3rd Aswan International Women's Film Festival, which ended Tuesday evening in Aswan, southern Egypt.
The competition in the category of long films was limited to 12 different films, including two Arab films: the Yemeni film (10 days before Zafah) and another from the Kingdom of Morocco, while the other 10 were distributed to a number of Western countries.

"This award means a lot to us in order to continue to present films in a country that has been suffering from wars over the past years, such as Yemen," said Amr Gamal, the director of the Yemeni film.

"I give this award to my wounded country, to the city of Aden in particular, and to the people who helped me to produce this film," Jamal said.

The jury member Laila Alawi said: "The fact that the jury wishes to praise the film, being the first Yemeni film with such high degree of professionalism," noting that: "The heroine and the hero and all actors and actresses in the film were wonderful."

"The film was produced in just 30 days and with a production budget of $ 30,000, I did a good job."

The jury of the Aswan International Women's Film Festival in its third edition was composed of Egyptian artist Laila Alawi and the membership of Belgian producer Jacques Baidou; Blender.
