Valencia face Barcelona in the King's Cup final
Valencia qualified for the King's Cup against Barcelona after reaching the final for the first time in 11 years after beating Real Betis 1-0 at Mestalla Stadium on Thursday. Rodrigo Moreno's goal in the second half gave him a 3-2 victory in the overall result.
Valencia, who won the last time they reached the final in 2008, will play 30-time champions Barcelona on May 25 at Benito Bimarin Stadium.
Marcelinho's team adjusted for a 2-2 draw in the first leg against Betis.
He seemed to have absorbed the pressure of Betis, who had the ball for most of the time.
The visitors had the best chance in the first half of the match and Valencia keeper Jaume Domenech saved a powerful shot from Jesse and Betis defender Issa Mandi put the ball in the top of the net after a kick.
Valencia showed greater ambition after the break and made a good start in the 56th minute when Kevin Jammeru headed into the penalty area and sent a cross pass to Moreno, who easily scored from close range.
Betis needed two goals to keep his hopes in the final at home and continued to acquire the ball but Valencia closed the space and was not in danger.
Barcelona, who won the title in the last four seasons, beat Real Madrid 3-0 on Wednesday to win 4-1 in the overall standings in the semi-final.
